Great Hornbill

Took me the whole bloody day..but I’m pretty satisfied with the results. Not perfect but the Great Hornbill is such a gloriously gorgeous bird.  Pangkor Island is a great place to see these beautiful birds flying free in the wild.  Did you know that hornbills are monogamous and are such great parents?  Sometimes wildlife can teach us a thing or two about life.

The Great hornbill (Buceros bicornis) also known as the great Indian hornbill or great pied hornbill, is one of the larger members of the hornbill family. They are interesting birds, often monogamous, with one partner for life. Their habitat includes broadleaved, evergreen and mixed deciduous forest, forest on some larger islands, up to 1,525 metres. Usually found in pairs or small groups.
