Brown-throated Sunbird

Say hello to the brown-throated sunbird we saw flitting around a hibiscus bush at Pangkor island…he was quite a little poser ♡

The brown-throated sunbird (Anthreptes malacensis), also known as the plain-throated sunbird, is a species of bird in the Nectariniidae family. It is found in a wide range of semi-open habitats (forest edge, mangroves, freshwater swamp forest, secondary growth, coastal shrubs, plantations and gardens) in south-east Asia, ranging from Myanmar to the Lesser Sundas and west Philippines. They primarily feed on nectar, but will also take small fruits and berries. Juveniles are fed with insects.
